Tip from George the Moose

Young children should exercise with adult supervision. Where there is a physical disability or an asthmatic condition you should consult with your family doctor prior to doing any of the exercises.

A message from George the Moose:

"Exercise is a way to look and feel good. The following are 3 sample exercises that you can do at home, with your folks and without any equipment."

So come along, exercise with me, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Remember Breathing properly is important!

Touch Toes:

While you are standing, inhale. As you exhale, reach down towards your toes. Not too hard, you don't have to actually touch your toes. Count to 3 and inhale as you stand upright. Repeat 10 times.

Sit Ups:

Lie on your back on the carpet with your knees raised and your arms folded across your chest. Using only your stomach muscles, try to sit up. Repeat 10 times.

Push Ups:

Lie on you stomach on the carpet. Place you hands next to your shoulders and press down on the carpet to lift your upper body. Repeat 10 times.

And that's all there is to it. As you get used to doing these exercises you can increase them in units of 10. And don't forget to ask your folks to exercise as well.

ONE OTHER NOTE:

Exercising to music is lots of fun. Dancing is very good for you. When you "dancercise" feel free to make up your own steps or ask your older brother or sister to show you how. Sing along, even if you don't think you have a good voice.
